A SANTA BRUNCH WILL BE HELD IN THE TOWN OF VIRDEN IN THE LEGION ASSEMBLY HALL WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF 8TH AVENUE SOUTH AND WELLINGTON STREET WEST. THE ANNUAL SANTA BRUNCH IS ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10TH AND IS SERVED FROM 10:00 AM TO 2:00 PM. THERE WILL BE GAMES FOR THE CHILDREN, FACE PAINTING, CHRISTMAS COOKIE DECORATING, AND, OF COURSE, VIRDEN'S BEST SILENT CHRISTMAS AUCTION. SPECIAL VISITORS WILL BE DROPPING IN DURING THE EVENT. MR. & MRS. CLAUS AND THEIR NEW 2017 SLEIGH WILL BE THERE ... SO BRING A CAMERA. VIRDEN'S VERY OWN MANITOBA JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE TEAM THE OIL CAPS WILL ALSO BE IN ATTENDANCE. THE COST OF ADMISSION IS A DONATION. SPONSORED BY THE CADET PARENTS' COMMITTEE AND THE XII MANITOBA DRAGOONS CADET CORPS.

The Arts Mosaic Anonymous Art Auction Fundraiser takes place at the CPR Historic Centre. Pre viewing & Bidding runs until Nov 26, Final Bidding Night is Nov 27 from 7-8pm. Silver Collection, Drinks & Appetizers available. The gallery is full of wonderful creations, all a reflection of what Canada means to local and regional artists. This is also a great opportunity to do some holiday shopping! All proceeds benefit Arts Mosaic, Local Artists & art organizations.

The Senior Access to Independent Living is having a Fundraising social Saturday November 4th, and they’re taking you back to the 1940’s with the Mark Humphries Orchestra. Tickets are only $25 and you can dance the night away from 8-10:30 with your favorite Big Band sounds at the Tundra Oil and Gas Place. Lunch will also be provided. Manitoba Arts Network: Manitoba Showcase 2017
Organized by the Manitoba Arts Network, this year’s Manitoba Showcase previews the incredible talent of 17 performers from across the country from October 20 & 21 in Russell, Manitoba. For 2 days, artists vie for the attention of rural community delegates in hopes of getting booked for the 2018/19 touring season. While the weekend is sure to help artists and rural community organizers network, it is also a great opportunity for the public to take in wonderful visual artworks, beautiful song and dance, or a theatre production for the whole family. The weekend begins with a Wine Tasting and Artisan Market featuring local visual artists on Thursday, October 19 at 7 p.m. Performing Artist Showcases, are held on the Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. All Showcase shows will be held at the George P. Buleziuk Centre in Russell and are open to the public. Regular admission is $15/show. Tickets for Friday’s Dinner and a Show are $45 and includes a theatre show, 2 for Tea by James and Jamesy, and the Showcase #1 performances. Performing artists from the Parkland region are welcome to attend the Song Swap at 10:30am Friday morning hosted by BreakOut West or the Open Mic opportunities on the Friday and Saturday evenings at the Russell Inn.
